LBW
We all love cricket so much and have a heavy heart after India lost in the 50-over World Cup final. But sometimes things happen out of our hands. Here, in this brief blog we are going to look into the Cricket LBW tips for novices.
In the context of cricket, what does lbw stand for? — Leg Before Wicket.
Rules!
Step 1:
Check whether the delivery is legal or no ball.
if it is legal then,
Step 2:
If the ball touches the bat or glove, then it is concluded as an inside edge and given not out.
A Snickometer is used to check this.
If it is not touched then,
Step 3:
Pitching - The ball pitched at the outside leg stump then concluded as not out.
If it is pitched at the line/outside off stump then,
Step 4:
Impact - The ball hits the batsman’s body about the stumps.
If the player didn't intend to play the ball, then concluded as out.
If The impact must be within the stump line and the player intends to play the ball then,
Step 5:
Hitting - the ball is projected from the impact point to the stump, whether it is hitting or not.
If it is hitting, then conclude as out.
Umpire decisions in cricket!
You heard about the term - Umpire’s Decision. It’s nothing but the DRS system got confused among the above five steps, then the umpire's decision is final.
