The day, when we met

 The day, when we met

August 12, 2021

It's been a year since we met. I don't know how the time fled.

Like a snail!

On the previous day of our first met, I got so nervous and excited. I couldn't sleep that night. The night was moving like a snail.

Change of plans

Eventually, the next day arrived. Initially, our family planned to meet at my house. So, I woke up early and did all my household chores. Then, the plan was changed to Veerpandi Temple in Theni. The gatherings were planned for the evening.

In the meantime, I groomed myself by putting some sandalwood paste on my face. And slept for a while in the afternoon. But the nervousness never disappeared from me.

Flip-flops!

Finally, the evening arrived. I got confused about wearing a saree or chudi. At that time, I was about 41 kgs. For my height, the weight I possessed was not balanced according to BMI. I appeared lean by wearing the saree. So, I decided to wore chudi. But my dad contended to wear a saree. Thank god, my mom convinced him. And she also wants me to wear a chudi rather than a saree. Obviously, flip-flops were over.

Journey Time

We started our journey to the temple. That was a fined Thursday. I remembered, that the temple was closed for the next upcoming 3 days due to some occasion. Honestly, I forgot, what the occasion that was.

Back to me, We entered the temple and prayed. Then, we sat in the temple. The groom's family was not yet arrived. Indeed! I was in a panic situation. My heart beat was in an express swift.

Protagonist arrived!

Thereafter, My man and his family members arrived. On seeing him, I became an oblivion person. Both families united and talked about their lifestyles. I didn’t see any member's face. I exactly don’t know what is happening and where am I. Literally, I was in a dreamy world. I couldn’t fully see his face.

Brother’s Plot

And, my brother asked me, “Do you want to talk to him privately?”. I said, No. Then, he asked the groom. He also said, no. But he convinced both to talk in private.

We moved to a place behind sanctum sanctorum. I noticed him. His stature was 6 feet. I looked by moving my head upwards because of his height. I got trepidation when I saw him. I cope with that by not seeing his face.

Convo Started!

He started the first word of a conversation. He asked me, “Do you like me?”. I said, Yes. And I also asked the same. He also replied the same. And then, he illustrates himself. Added to it, he asked about myself like hobbies, schooling, college, work, favorite food, and friends, like that. I simply answered his question.

Back to Pavillion!

We grasp both of them slightly. At some point, we both didn’t know what to talk about. The silence encountered between us. So, we decided to move and join the family troops. Back to Pavillion!

Amidst the buzz!

Then both families merged. And then, at the farewell, we invited them to my house. They also accepted. Both families started their journey to my house.

After reaching home, we served them coffee, and snacks with sweets and spices. I sat on a blanket. He was opposite me, sitting on a sofa. He didn’t drink milky products like coffee, tea, or milk from his childhood. So, he simply ate snacks. My home was full of bustling. But, I simply admired him.

Acknowledgment

Time came. We mingled and they invited my family to visit their house on coming Sunday - August 15. And also they added about betrothal ceremony, which we decide on that day. My family also acknowledged their words.

Deftly!

Send-off happened. He deftly said goodbye, by simply shaking his head towards me. I also shook my head by conveying that I got your goodbye.

This is how that day ends. But the trepidation and nervousness were not left me until our marriage occurred.
